Rickie Fowler gave some Oklahoma State University golfers a peek into what it is like to be a professional golfer.
And a damn good one at that.
Fowler is one of the executive producers for the show Driven, a documentary series about the OSU golf team which airs on the Golf Channel. In the latest episode, Fowler brought the OSU team over to his house, a nice gesture from one of the school’s most famous alumni.
Now it’s one thing to be playing on the PGA Tour, but it’s a completely different ballgame when you are a Top-10 player in the world golf rankings.
The members of the OSU golf team looked at Fowler’s Florida home in awe and wonder. Fantasizing about one day being in his shoes and owning such a glorious place with a chipping and putting area right in the backyard.
Fowler wasn’t dressed up like a professional. He was in flip-flops, shorts, an OSU t-shirt, and hat spun backward on his head.
For that encounter, Fowler was no longer this idol from the PGA Tour.
He was one of them. Just one of the guys, enjoying some golf.
